Interview: 2Jay & Luminous Club Tour Interview On SureBoizGangMusic Tv

SBGM_MEDIA : I caught up with Luminous for a
quick chat on their tour which is taking place
today and they had quite a lot to reveal about the
Tour and this is what took place


SBGM_MEDIA: What’s 2Jay & Luminous Club
Tour all about?

Mr Luminous : Well 2Jay and his gang that’s the
#Frezh Cidy Ent decided to come out with this
one,as we all know Its been all 2Jay club tour in
recent years now,so this time they decided to
collaborate with another brand and out fit other
than just 2Jay and so they found Me(Mr
Luminous) as the Best person to collaborate with
this time,was all 2Jay’s idea tho…well the club
tour is just to say to fans thank you for
supporting the brands 2Jay & Mr Luminous in
2015,and its been agreed that its gon be an
annual event…Once in a year..its an event that’ll
be holding in december every year…so that’s just
it

SBGM_MEDIA : Ok! So How was music like for you
when you first started show biz and what was the
challenges you faced?

Mr Luminous : Music and the industry took me
when unawares at a point I least Expected,I
started singing in church at just a tender age of
4..from my church’s Sunday school,partook in
about 2competitions organised by the church and
came out 3rd and 1st respectively..how I got in
here,I started the journey in 2014 with my friends
Dbig Paul,Rockytwist,Vyno…they started the grind
like years ago n then ah got to meet them, and
they asked me to be a part of their crew,ah
decided n so together with em I recorded my first
ever single tagged “Always on my mind” and that
was just it,the industry and all have been so fair
to me,my first year was evergreen with ma song
“Peace anthem for naija” getting a nomination for
the best song with a message at The 2014 top
naija music awards..and again in 2014 I won the
1st ever fresh house music who wants to be a
star talent hunt show…was all good,my parents
av been so supportive,And Edumare also has had
his way throughout ma one year stay here…

SBGM_MEDIA : Did you have a premonition that
“Freedom” will be this big when you were
recording the song and why did you choose Real
Pee Ajaba instead of other artiste around?

Mr Luminous : (Smile) Freedom!! Freedom!!
freedom!!! .. No I didnt,doing a song with Real pee
Ajaba had always been my dream and indeed it
came to pass some months ago,Thanks to ma
boss *Mr Shadow,Freedom was never a planned
song,it came as a huge inspiration while I was in
real pee’s studio,and thank God he was around
and so since it was his kind of song he decided
to stomp on the song…and for real he did justice
to it

SBGM_MEDIA : Some Nigerians mistook your
comment when you said in a press release you
were no more part of Fresh House Ent due to
reasons best known to you. Can you briefly
explain to us the reason why you said so?

Mr Luminous : Fresh house has been the best
outfit I’ve ever been under so far in the
industry,they’ve made my career the much envied
one it is right now…I just thought it was time to
leave…i was just On a year contract with fresh
house…just thought it was time to go else where
no strings attached

SBGM_MEDIA: Can you tell us about your
educational background?

Mr Luminous : I’m a 200level student of sociology
in the university of calabar
SBGM_MEDIA: How is it like combining school
with music?

Mr Luminous : (Chuckle) My guy i swear down e
no easy at all,but its fun though,so far so good
we dey try,my niggas dey do wetin him get do for
me anytime am not around and so far,God has
been in control…we still riding on slowly…

SBGM_MEDIA: What’s your take in the Nigerian
Music Industry and where do you see it in the
next 2 years?

Mr Luminous : The Nigerian music industry has
really developed right from the days 2face Idibia
got blown to the world,music now is a career go
to anywhere and come back,it pays,the only thing
is its never all that smooth when still at the
starting point,that’s why our boys and girls
nowadays are so much into it..Nigerian music
trust me has been placed in the map of Africa n
whole world at large and ah bet u there’ll never a
time u will tok of music and won’t find Nigeria In
first 2nd or 3rd place..its really great… Speaking
of where I see ma self in the next 2years…ma
brother…just sign some papers and meet me at
the top

SBGM_MEDIA: You are now a rising star,how do
you cope with fans,especially the ladies?

Mr Luminous : (Laugh for a while)… I dey try
sha,Fans,they love me…get so much comments,
and responses from fans everyday,some criticise
me,and some ask for more…I love ma fans…
they’re the best…
Pressure from the girls much sha,but anyhow e
be ah dey handle am but trust me there’s that
woman wey dey sweet ma belle so much…
SBGM_MEDIA : So,who is the lucky lady?
Mr Luminous : Let’s leave that in the dark for
now

SBGM_MEDIA : How do you relax when you are
not performing or recording?

Mr Luminous : Well….I just try to live a normal life
whether on stage or off the stage,No fake life at
all…m just dis guy who loves to associate freely
without even caring whether m a public figure or
not…well ah go to school, come back,try to chat n
play games with friends. Ah love to argue big
time…

SBGM_MEDIA : what inspired you into music?

Mr Luminous : Number 1 – God
Number 2 – cuz ah could sing and could compose
songs even at a tender age
Number 3 – listening to 2face idibia and even
watching him On stage was something that gave
me this ginger to do music…his songs inspired
me,at a point he became my addiction…

SBGM_MEDIA : Who is your role model?

Mr Luminous : The legendary 2Face Idibia is my
Role model

SBGM_MEDIA : So what are your fans expecting
from you and 2Jay tonight

Mr Luminous : We setting that place
ablaze,Some1 please help me tell someone that
someone is gonna Enjoy the party so much that
he or she wouldn’t wanno go home again…Don’t
come expecting to see just Luminous & 2Jay
alone just come expecting to get lots of laugh,lots
of good music from cross river state act and of
course renowned Award winning Nigerian Act
FAZE…its gon be mad fun

SBGM_MEDIA : Your advice to other young
artistes out there.

Mr Luminous : Just work hard,be patient
enough,take no short cut,don’t do it cause
Luminous or 2Jay are doing it,do it cause u
wanno do it,trust in God and finally,,always keep
it real and right from your heart

SBGM_MEDIA : Last words for your fans.

Mr Luminous : Thanks for always supporting my
dreams and movement,thanks for always
downloading my songs,thanks for always
demanding for ma album, thanks for always
coming for ma shows,I love you by force no
homo,thank you,thank you and thank you
