There comes a time in one's life that things suddenly start falling into place. Some are born Stars, while some others go through a process and made Stars.
Sometime in 2015, a young boy won a competition tagged "Who wants to be a Star" organized by Fresh House. This boy before this said competition had made a name for himself by winning winning a Rap competition organized by MTN where he won a laptop to aid him in his studies, he became known for winning that competition, and from there was invited to some other places where he also won, it suddenly looked like Heaven had remembered him. It was a thing of Joy for family and friends who heard this boy will be competing in this competition as they knew he will certainly emerge victorious and give him the leverage he's always needed to pursue his dreams.
This boy registered for and went in for this competition where he was promised...
1. A year's recording deal worth N200,000
2. A chance to perform in Calabar Carnival (Last year december)
3. 6 months Radio, TV, and Online Promtion
4. A standard music Video
5. A chance to feature a Celebrity
Everyone who heard of this was happy for him, finally it was his time to rise to stardom.
Few months after this competition, nothing seemed to be forthcoming, he wrote down songs he intended to do, went to the studio to record this songs, and most times he'll be told hurtful words like "we don't need rappers, we need pop singers, amongst us all you're the only rapper and you give us so much work". Even with all this hurtful words he will still manage to record the song after paying for a studio session, he'll still find and pay a graphic designer to design the song's artwork, and yet still pay a blogger to promote this songs on his blog(s) which wasn't part of what was promised him.
Apart from this, he wasn't put in as one of the performers in his label's shows, he would have to go to the show and beg to perform. Next thing, he was asked to campaign for votes for "their boss" who was a contestant in the Voice which had just made it's debut in Nigeria, and he needed voted to win this competition so he could take them all in his walk to Success. The things he had heard and seen notwithstanding, he voted and canvassed for votes from his family and friends both online and offline so "their boss" could win.
The competition ended, "their boss" didn't win, but was among the ten finalists of the competition and was made an ambassador to the telecoms company that sponsored the competition. The time promised him to fulfill the competition was gradually ebbing out, no hope whatsoever was given him that this promises will be met before expiration of the said time. He met a brick wall each time he inquired how this promises were going to be met and what was expected of him. As a young man, ebullient and known for creative ideas, he decided to do a track and let the whole world know that he's been shut off by this same people that were supposed to help him in his rise to stardom as the competition stated. This boss of theirs theirs went on to call the track a good one, but that it will spell doom for him, forgetting that it is GRACE that has brought us all thus far and he cannot stop whatever God wants to do.
Let the whole world see and know this day....
